Job summary

Newtone Consulting is seeking an experienced System Manager to lead operations, maintenance, security, and lifecycle management of mission-critical IT infrastructure supporting public sector systems in Singapore. You will guide engineering teams and vendors to ensure high availability, operational resilience, and compliance with Singapore Government ICT requirements.

Responsibilities include ITIL-aligned incident, change, and release management, patching, DR/BCP exercises, and security reviews.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of infrastructure/system management experience, incl. 5+ years leading technical teams or vendors.
• Strong experience with enterprise infrastructure: Windows Server, VMware, storage, backup/recovery, monitoring.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, hybrid cloud, and GCC environments is highly desirable.
• Good understanding of infrastructure security, vulnerability management, DR/BCP, and ITIL processes.
• Experience supporting government/regulatory environments (e.g., Government, Defence, Healthcare) preferred.
• Certifications such as ITIL, Azure, VMware VCP, CISSP/CISM, or PMP are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee patching, vulnerability remediation, system hardening, and security reviews.
• Manage backup, Disaster Recovery (DR), and Business Continuity (BCP) exercises.
• Ensure compliance with IM8, GCC, PDPA, cybersecurity policies, and audit requirements.
• Provide technical oversight for upgrades, migrations, and technology refresh initiatives.
• Manage vendors, support contracts, deliverables, and service performance.
• Lead and mentor System Engineers and infrastructure teams.
• Provide management reporting on service performance, risks, incidents, capacity, and compliance.

• Oversee patching, vulnerability remediation, system hardening, security reviews, and technical risk management.
• Manage backup, Disaster Recovery (DR), Business Continuity (BCP) and recovery exercises.
• Ensure compliance with IM8, GCC, PDPA, cybersecurity policies, and government audit requirements.
• Provide technical oversight for infrastructure upgrades, architecture changes, migrations, and technology refresh initiatives.
• Manage vendors, support contracts, operational deliverables, and service performance.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 10+ years of infrastructure/system management experience, including 5+ years leading technical teams or vendors.
• Strong experience with Windows Server, VMware, storage, backup/recovery, monitoring, and enterprise infrastructure.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, hybrid cloud, and GCC environments is highly desirable.
• Good understanding of infrastructure security, vulnerability management, DR/BCP, and ITIL processes.
• Experience supporting Government, Defence, Healthcare, Statutory Boards, or regulated environments preferred.
• Strong leadership, vendor management, stakeholder communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Certifications such as ITIL, Microsoft Azure, VMware VCP, CISSP/CISM, or PMP are advantageous.
