Job summary

sciente international pte. ltd. is seeking an experienced system manager to lead the administration, maintenance, and enhancement of enterprise IT infrastructure in Singapore. You will manage a team of system engineers, ensure high availability, and drive upgrades across Windows, VMware, networking, and security.

You will provide technical leadership, oversee patch management, backups, and security controls, and collaborate with stakeholders to uphold operational excellence and compliance.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in systems infrastructure with 3+ years leading a team of 3+ engineers.
• Strong Windows Server and AD administration experience.
• VMware ESXi/vCenter, vSAN, NSX experience and upgrades.
• Patch management, certificates, antivirus, backup & recovery expertise.
• Networking, security concepts, and centralized logging familiarity.
• Experience with enterprise infrastructure projects and change management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of system engineers with technical oversight.
• Maintain high system availability and perform preventive health checks.
• Plan upgrades for servers, VMware, networks, and COTS platforms.
• Assess changes with testing, rollback planning, and impact analysis.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced system manager to lead the administration, maintenance, and enhancement of enterprise IT infrastructure.

The role is responsible for managing a team of system engineers, ensuring high system availability, overseeing infrastructure upgrades, driving operational excellence, and providing technical leadership across Windows, VMware, networking, and security environments.

Mandatory Skill-set

• Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, IT, Computer Engineering, or related field;
• Has 6+ years of hands-on systems infrastructure experience with 3+ years leading a team of at least 3 system engineers;
• Strong administration of Windows Server 2019+, Windows 11, Active Directory (GPO, OU, and user administration), and Microsoft SQL Server 2019+;
• Hands-on experience with VMware ESXi, vCenter, vSAN, NSX, virtualization, and infrastructure upgrades;
• Experience in Windows patch management (WSUS), Windows CA/SSL Certificates, antivirus solutions (Symantec SEP/SEPM, Trellix ePO), and backup & recovery;
• Good understanding of networking (Layer 2/3, routing, IPSec VPN), security concepts (PAM, EDR, RSA), and centralized logging tools (Splunk, Syslog);
• Experience managing enterprise infrastructure projects, system upgrades, and change management;
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills with the ability to mentor engineers.

Desired Skill-set

• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or hybrid environments).

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of system engineers, providing technical guidance and operational oversight;
• Manage system availability, preventive maintenance, health checks, and monthly operational reporting;
• Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, including servers, operating systems, VMware, network devices, and COTS platforms;
• Review, assess, and implement system changes, ensuring proper impact analysis, testing, and rollback planning;
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure, server, virtualization, and network-related issues;
• Administer and maintain Windows Servers, Active Directory, Microsoft SQL Server, VMware, and security infrastructure;
• Oversee patch management, SSL certificate lifecycle, antivirus management, backup & recovery, and centralized logging;
• Ensure infrastructure security, compliance, system performance, and adherence to operational best practices.
