Job summary

ASSURITZ INFOSEC (SG) PTE. LTD. seeks a hands-on System Engineer to design, implement, and commission enterprise systems and maintain existing infrastructure in Singapore.

The role supports application teams, drives DevOps initiatives, and contributes to migrating systems toward a Kubernetes platform. You will manage cloud, virtualization, Windows Server, databases, backups, and network security while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on, versatile System Engineer to drive the design, implementation, and commissioning of new enterprise systems, as well as ensure the high availability and maintenance of existing infrastructure. In this role, you will be instrumental in building out a full ICT infrastructure stack and supporting application teams with integration and system maintenance. You will also play a key role in our upcoming infrastructure evolution, planning and assisting in the migration of systems to a Kubernetes platform for project turnkey.

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Design & Deployment: Manage, configure, and commission new systems, virtualization environments, and comprehensive ICT infrastructure stacks.
• System Operations & Maintenance: Handle routine and preventive maintenance, system upgrades, OS patching, and end-to-end troubleshooting.
• Application & Team Support: Collaborate with application development teams to facilitate seamless system integrations, application/database installation, configurations & management, and backup operations.
• Migration & DevOps Initiative: Plan, assist, and execute the upcoming system migration to a Kubernetes platform leveraging modern DevOps and automation tools (e.g., Ansible).
• Incident Management & Standby: Participate in 24/7 on call/standby arrangements to respond to critical system faults on site, troubleshoot issues, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
• Documentation & Architecture: Produce comprehensive system documentation and propose robust system architectures to meet evolving requirements.

Experience

• 3 to 5 years of hands-on professional experience in system engineering, infrastructure administration, or data centre operations.
• Proficiency in at least 5 or more of the core technical skill sets listed below.

Core Technical Competencies

• Cloud & Virtualization: Hands-on experience with Azure Stack Hub (VM configuration, deployment, and core services such as NSGs, Load Balancers, Virtual Images, and Storage).
• Windows Server Administration: Advanced expertise in server configuration, Windows Domain Administration, Microsoft Failover Clustering, Windows RDS Architecture, GPO, OS hardening, patching, and upgrading.
• Database Administration: Configuration, upgrading, hardening, and administration of Databases.
• Backup & Recovery: Configuration and management of backup solutions utilizing Commvault.
• Networking & Security: Strong grasp of core networking concepts, network security design/implementation, system security concepts, and SSL certificate management.
• Data centre Operations: Ground-level, physical, and virtual hands-on work with data centre VMs and hardware.
• Architecture & Documentation: Ability to analyse system requirements, propose sound technical architectures, and produce clear system documentation.
• DevOps & Modernization: Practical knowledge and experience in DevOps operations, automation using Ansible, and exposure to containerization/Kubernetes.
