Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience with primary school-aged children.
• Experience in student management, pastoral care, wellbeing or counselling is advantageous.
• Former/retired educators or those with school experience are welcome.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviours calmly and de-escalate.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills with students, parents, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide roving supervision during recess and engage with students.
• Build rapport with students and observe peer interactions.
• Identify emerging concerns and manage student conflicts.
• Attend to students displaying challenging behaviours.
• De-escalate situations and provide emotional regulation support.
• Conduct restorative conversations and guide reflection on behaviour.
• Monitor student well-being through check-ins and follow up on concerns.
• Liaise with teachers, Year Heads and School Counsellors on student matters.
• Communicate with parents and document student interventions.
• Monitor and prepare cases requiring further follow-up.
• Facilitate detention and guided reflection sessions on detention days.
• Help students understand underlying behavioural issues and set goals.
• Support reintegration of students back into learning.
• Accompany teachers/Year Heads for home visits where required.
