Qualifications

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with students, parents, and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide roving supervision during recess and engage with students.
  • Build rapport with students and observe peer interactions.
  • Identify emerging concerns and manage student conflicts.
  • Attend to students displaying challenging behaviours.
  • De-escalate situations and provide emotional regulation support.
  • Conduct restorative conversations and guide reflection on behaviour.
  • Monitor student well-being through check-ins and follow up on concerns.
  • Liaise with teachers, Year Heads and School Counsellors on student matters.
  • Communicate with parents and document student interventions.
  • Monitor and prepare cases requiring further follow-up.
  • Facilitate detention and guided reflection sessions on detention days.
  • Help students understand underlying behavioural issues and set goals.
  • Support reintegration of students back into learning.
  • Accompany teachers/Year Heads for home visits where required.

Job description

  • Regular Days: 9.00am – 3.00pm

  • Tuesday & Friday (Detention Days): 11.00am – 5.00pm

  • Excluding weekends and Public Holidays

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide roving supervision during recess and actively engage with students

  • Conduct individual student check-ins and monitor student well-being

  • Follow up on previous concerns and identify students requiring additional support

  • Liaise with teachers, Year Heads and School Counsellors on student matters

  • Communicate with parents and document student interventions

  • Monitor student support plans and prepare cases requiring further follow-up

  • Facilitate detention and guided reflection sessions on detention days

  • Help students understand underlying behavioural issues and set behavioural goals

  • Support students in their reintegration back into learning

  • Accompany teachers/Year Heads for home visits where required

Requirements
  • Prior experience working with primary school-aged children

  • Experience in student management, pastoral care, student well-being, behaviour management or counselling-related work would be advantageous

  • Former/retired educators or individuals with relevant experience in a school or educational setting are welcome to apply

  • Able to manage challenging student behaviours calmly and confidently, including de-escalation and restorative conversations

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills to engage students, parents and school staff

  • Patient, firm yet caring, with a genuine interest in supporting students' development and well-being
