Job summary

HONFON (SOUTH PACIFIC) ENGINEERING PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Engineer to lead structural steel engineering and construction activities for pharmaceutical facility projects.

You will work closely with design, fabrication, construction, quality control and project teams to ensure steel works are technically sound, compliant, delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in structural steel engineering.
• Experience in preparing equipment lifting plans.
• Proficiency in English and Mandarin preferred for cross-language coordination.

Responsibilities

• Provide functional requirements, structural sketches, and calculation reports to the PE Engineer based on design specifications.
• Review client design drawings to identify issues or discrepancies against actual construction needs.
• Conduct technical briefings for steel structure fabrication yards to address site conditions and resolve fabrication issues.
• Prepare steel structure method statements, work schedules, and resource plans to guide construction activities.
• Organize, coordinate, and monitor steel structure construction to ensure timely and quality delivery.
• Assist the Quantity Surveyor by supplying data and documentation for progress payment submissions.
• Support the Quality Control team by providing information and documentation for quality records.

Job Summary

• Proficiency in English/Mandarin is preferred, as the role may require communication with Chinese-speaking colleagues, contractors, and fabrication teams.

Benefits

• Annual leave starting from 14 days, increasing progressively to 20 days.
• 5 days of paid leave for the Spring Festival, with an additional allowance for employees required to work during the period.
• Year-end bonus of at least 1.5 months' salary, subject to company policy and performance.
• Annual outpatient medical reimbursement of up to SGD 500.
