Job summary

MCC Singapore is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage cost estimates, budgets and BOQs for Singapore projects. You will handle tendering, commercial evaluation and subcontract administration, ensuring alignment with contract terms and client requirements.

The role requires strong numerical, analytical and cost-management skills, with experience in progressing claims, final accounts and multiple stakeholders coordination. Based in Singapore, the position emphasizes accuracy and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Relevant working experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
• Experience in Singapore construction projects is preferred.
• Good knowledge of quantity take-off, cost estimation, tendering and contract administration.
• Experience in progress claims, variation orders, subcontract administration and final accounts.
• Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications and BOQ.
• Familiarity with Singapore standard forms of construction contracts is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage project cost estimates, budgets and cost plans.
• Carry out quantity take-offs and prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
• Assist in tender preparation, pricing and commercial evaluation.
• Source quotations and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals.
• Prepare and issue subcontract tender documents and recommendations for award.
• Prepare and submit progress claims, variation orders and contractual claims.
• Assess subcontractor progress claims and prepare payment recommendations.
• Monitor project costs, commitments and expenditures against approved budgets.
• Maintain proper records of variations, claims and commercial correspondence.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and project teams on commercial matters.
• Assist in contract administration and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
• Identify potential cost and contractual risks and highlight them to management.
• Prepare monthly cost reports, forecasts and cash flow projections.
• Negotiate and settle variations and subcontractor accounts.
• Prepare and manage final accounts for main contracts and subcontracts.
• Support the Contract Manager/Senior Quantity Surveyor in other contractual and commercial matters.
