Job summary

Safran Singapore Pte. Ltd is seeking an experienced buyer to manage regional and national indirect commodities.

The role involves developing RFQs, analyzing supplier responses, negotiating terms, and implementing supplier contracts in line with the global purchasing strategy. The successful candidate will define local purchasing strategies, monitor spend, and drive cost reduction opportunities while coordinating with internal stakeholders to meet schedules and quality targets.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Purchasing or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a buyer position.
• Detailed and possess organizational and prioritization skills to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Develop requests for quotations, analyze supplier responses, negotiate according to overall strategy and implement supplier contracts.
• Collaborate with global purchasing teams to implement purchasing strategies.
• Define a Local Target Purchasing Strategy for the commodities in charge.
• Develop road map through analyzing spend and identifying cost reduction opportunities.
• Ensure productivity reporting (savings) in purchasing tools.
• Ensure all Purchase Orders are processed in a timely manner at the best price.
• Resolve issues regarding delivery delays, damaged goods, or billing problems as necessary.
• Coordinate delivery schedules with internal teams, including long lead purchases.
• Monitor supplier performance to ensure quality and timely shipments.
• Drive improvements on delivery, cost, and quality of materials from suppliers.
• Collaborate with Finance, Internal Control, Supply Chain, Planning, Quality, Production, Engineering to drive purchasing projects.
• Set up KPIs: productivity, OTD, RFQ lead time.
