Job summary

The Rice Funder Collaborative seeks a Strategy & Programmes Lead to own the programmatic strategy, grantmaking, and learning across pooled and aligned capital. You will curate a high‑quality pipeline, oversee due diligence, and guide a small team to deliver impact and learning for smallholder farmers in Asia.

Reporting to the Secretariat, you’ll shape the theory of change, collaborate with funders, and monitor portfolio performance while building a rigorous MEL framework and equitable

Qualifications

• Senior grantmaking and strategy leadership with a track record.
• Ability to translate strategy into actionable grantmaking.
• Strong systems thinking to simplify complex information.
• Regional experience in Southeast Asia or similar contexts.
• Experience managing portfolios and learning-driven impact.
• Proven ability to build and lead teams.
• Skilled stakeholder engagement with funders and partners.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and operationalise RFC strategy, theory of change, and three‑year plan.
• Design grantmaking theses, funding priorities, and sequencing.
• Lead pipeline development, due diligence, and grant recommendations.
• Oversee pooled fund investments and portfolio impact tracking.
• Build MEL framework with clear indicators and learning loops.
• Lead a small programmatic team and coordinate across functions.
