Job summary

Next Insurance, Inc. is seeking a senior leader to set the technical direction for high-value data science and AI initiatives in Singapore.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, or Data Science with practical software engineering experience.
• 9–12 years of hands-on data science/AI delivery with leadership and measurable impact.
• Strong Python and SQL production-grade coding skills and architectural contribution.
• Experience with end-to-end ML lifecycle including deployment, monitoring and retraining.
• Excellent communication with clients and senior leaders including C-level stakeholders.
• Experience in consulting/client delivery or pre-sales is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction for complex, high-value data science and AI initiatives aligned to business strategy, user needs and measurable outcomes.
• Lead end-to-end delivery from opportunity identification through deployment and adoption.
• Architect and build scalable Python-based ML/AI solutions across structured and unstructured data using solid software engineering practices.
• Establish rigorous evaluation baselines and acceptance criteria; assess model performance, reliability, drift and business impact.
• Translate ambiguous business needs into executable roadmaps and clearly communicate options, trade-offs and recommendations.
• Build relationships with senior stakeholders; lead workshops and present strategies to clients and C-level audiences.
• Lead technical workstreams and architecture reviews; define delivery plans and manage dependencies/risks.
• Mentor data scientists and engineers; raise standards through code/design reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Partner with data engineering, MLOps, platform and product teams to create reusable data/training/evaluation/inference capabilities.
• Embed responsible AI, security, privacy, model governance and regulatory requirements throughout the lifecycle.
