Job summary

Munich Re in Singapore seeks a Principal Data Scientist to shape and deliver high-impact data science and AI solutions for clients and internal teams. You will set technical direction, stay hands-on, and influence senior stakeholders while building talent and governance standards.

You will lead end-to-end delivery, architect robust Python-based ML solutions, and drive adoption, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in a relevant field with 9–12 years of hands-on data science/AI leadership experience.
Proven track record delivering enterprise-level ML/AI solutions with measurable impact.
Strong Python/SQL development and production-quality software engineering practices.

Responsibilities

Set technical direction for high‑value data science initiatives aligned with business goals.
Lead end-to-end delivery from discovery to production and adoption.
Architect scalable Python-based ML solutions across structured and unstructured data.
Establish evaluation baselines, monitor model performance and governance.
Translate business needs into executable roadmaps and communicate trade-offs.
Engage senior stakeholders and shape data science propositions and pre‑sales material.
Lead workstreams, manage risks, and drive quality, speed, and cost trade-offs.
Mentor data scientists and engineers, raise engineering standards, and share patterns.
