Job summary

J.P. Morgan is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer II to own and operate critical payment services and cloud infrastructure, delivering high availability and performance across the payments platform.

You will drive observability, incident management, RCA, and automation, collaborating with cross-functional teams to speed triage and post-incident analysis, while applying enterprise AI capabilities to improve resiliency and reduce toil.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, cybersecurity, data science or related fields.
• 2+ years of formal training or certification on software engineering concepts.
• Ability to code in at least one programming language.
• Experience maintaining cloud-based infrastructure and observability tooling.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Own and run critical payment services and cloud infrastructure with high availability and performance.
• Drive production excellence via monitoring, observability, incident and problem management.
• Use Datadog, CloudWatch, and other tooling to detect and prevent customer-impacting issues.
• Lead recovery during incidents, perform root cause analysis and implement fixes.
• Apply enterprise AI capabilities to speed triage, troubleshooting and post-incident analysis.
• Eliminate toil through automation and self-healing solutions.
• Develop deep understanding of payment flows to identify risks and resolve production issues quickly.
• Recognize toil and pursue improvements in systems engineering and code.
• Improve SLOs, alerts, and observability patterns for transparency and analysis.
• Prioritize reuse-first improvements and measurable SLO outcomes using AI capabilities.
