Job summary

JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. is seeking a Software Engineer III for Real-Time Payments Services to build and run mission-critical RTP services, with ownership across resiliency, release readiness, and incident response.

Deep expertise in high-throughput payment systems, GemFire/Geode, and cloud-native AWS is required. You will lead production incident management, develop scalable microservices, and implement AI-assisted observability while ensuring secure, compliant payment outcomes.

Qualifications

3+ years of software engineering experience.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or related field.
Strong Java ecosystem skills (Java 11+/Spring Boot), REST/gRPC APIs.

Responsibilities

Lead production incident management for payment flows (P1/P2).
Develop and scale microservices for payment initiation, validation, routing, settlement, reconciliation, and exception handling.
Implement distributed in-memory data patterns using GemFire/Geode for ultra-low-latency state and caching.
Build AI-assisted observability and operations use cases (anomaly detection, incident prediction, runbook automation).
Own release quality with CI/CD gates, canary/blue-green strategies, and zero-downtime deployments.
Collaborate with product, operations, risk, compliance, and partner banks/processors for secure outcomes.
Ensure strong audit/regulatory controls, data lineage, traceability, and reporting.
Promote AI-assisted engineering practices with secure coding, code review, and testing.
