Job Description
Project Manager - (Manager/Senior Manager)
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the deliverables and successful execution of healthcare technology projects. This role requires a candidate who is adept at managing project timelines, budgets, resources, and stakeholder expectations within healthcare settings. The individual will ensure that all project outputs meet the highest standards of quality, comply with healthcare IT regulations, and are delivered on time and within scope.
Areas of Responsibility
- Lead and manage healthcare IT data related projects, from initiation to closure.
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support clinical and operational objectives.
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, secure/forecast manpower resources and budgets for healthcare technology implementations.
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams including clinical staff, IT personnel, and external vendors, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned with project goals and timelines.
- Prepare and organise comprehensive budget proposals with clearly defined use cases to secure funding for IT initiatives.
- Prepare and present funding papers to senior management with detailed justification, including cost‑benefit analysis and strategic alignment.
- Monitor project progress and ensure the successful completion of healthcare IT initiatives.
- Manage project risks, escalations, issues and changes, ensuring that impact on project milestones or data operations is communicated and mitigated effectively.
- Provide regular status updates to stakeholders and senior management.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, data privacy requirements, and data quality standards throughout project delivery.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of IT project management experience, with at least 3 years in healthcare or clinical environments.
- Professional certifications required:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or
- Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), or
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification
- Strong business acumen in project planning and budget development within healthcare settings. Financial management experience will be advantages.
- Proven experience in developing business cases, securing project funding, and managing budgets for IT initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and present compelling funding proposals to senior management and executive committees.
- Strong verbal, written, and organisational skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clinical and non‑clinical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) and project management tools.
- Demonstrated experience managing mid to large‑scale, complex healthcare data lake projects, including data ingestion, storage architecture, data governance frameworks, and analytics platform implementations.
- Familiarity with Data Science Project implementation will be advantageous.
- Experience with healthcare IT projects such as Electronic Medical Record (EMR) implementations, Hospital Information Systems (HIS), clinical system integrations, or healthcare data analytics solutions will be advantageous.
- Understanding healthcare regulations including data protection requirements and clinical safety standards.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills across clinical and technical teams.
- Experience in requirements gathering, impact assessments, and reporting on healthcare IT initiatives.
- Proven ability to work creatively and analytically with problem‑solving and design thinking skills in healthcare contexts.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and leading agile transformation initiatives will be advantageous.
