The Assistant Manager/ Senior Assistant Manager of the Population Health Office's Office of Clinical Governance (OCG) supports NHG Population Health's patient safety and quality improvement efforts through capability building, programme development and operational support. The role also provides research administration support to facilitate research-related processes within NHG Population Health.

This role requires attention to detail, strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, communication skills and teamwork to promote Quality and Safety, which would improve quality of care within NHG Population Health. These efforts will contribute to building an effective clinical governance framework that would empower the development of Population Health.

Major duties and responsibilities
  • Support the planning and delivery of quality improvement (QI) capability‑building activities by coordinating basic QI training sessions, providing administrative and coordination support to teams undertaking quality improvement projects, and maintaining QI project records and learning materials. This includes assisting teams with the use of QI templates and tools, helping to track project progress and submissions and keeping shared resources organised to support ongoing quality improvement efforts.
  • Contribute to the development of patient safety capability by supporting staff learning in patient safety concepts and practices, assisting in the creation and maintenance of patient safety learning resources and toolkits, and helping departments build a proactive culture of safety and quality within Population Health.
  • Provide coordination and operational support for ongoing patient safety programmes and follow‑up activities. This includes consolidating observations, feedback and information to support patient safety improvements, facilitating programme‑related administrative processes, and working with departments to apply and sustain patient safety practices and quality standards.
  • Assist in preparations for audits, regulatory reviews and accreditation by supporting evidence collation, document management and review activities. This includes contributing to the development, updating and maintenance of quality and patient safety policies, guidelines and documents, and helping track compliance requirements and follow‑up actions arising from accreditation or review processes.
  • Provide research administration support in terms of facilitating access to resources and updating internal platforms with relevant research‑related information. This includes assisting researchers in navigating DSRB submissions, funding opportunities, and accessing internal research resources.
  • Provide secretariat support and administrative assistance for the NHG Population Health Clinical Board, NHG Population Health Quality Committee and other Population Health Campus‑related meetings by preparing agendas, meeting materials, minutes, coordinating meeting logistics, facilitating communication with stakeholders, and ensuring timely follow‑up of decisions and action items.
  • Support the department and/or PCB in any other duties as required.
Job requirements

(a) Education/Training/Experience

  • Good bachelor's degree in any discipline.
  • At least 2 years of working experience in the area of Quality and Patient Safety. Prior experience in healthcare operations, and/or clinical experience will be advantageous.
  • Experience with data analysis tools (e.g. Excel, basic statistical software) and comfortable with data collection and interpretation.
  • Prior exposure to clinical research/ research coordinator work would be advantageous.
