Job summary

Adecco in Singapore is seeking a procurement/ sourcing professional to collaborate with engineering teams and suppliers, reviewing designs, tolerances and manufacturability to secure cost-efficient, on-time delivery across prototype to production. The role emphasizes RFQ management, supplier onboarding, and cross-functional coordination.

You will evaluate fabrication methods, assess new suppliers, and drive cost reduction while supporting ECO/CN changes and first article qualification.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in mechanical engineering.
• Experience in sourcing or procurement within a manufacturing environment (NPI/project-based).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Exposure to supplier qualification, audits and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder management across engineering, operations and suppliers.
• Experience with ERP/PLM systems (SAP, Windchill, Creo, AutoCAD) advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering teams and suppliers to review designs, specs and tolerances for manufacturability and cost efficiency.
• Manage RFQ activities and supplier selection across prototype to production phases.
• Identify, assess and onboard new suppliers across machining, sheet metal, cable & harness, PCBA and contract manufacturing.
• Evaluate materials, fabrication methods and suppliers for cost reduction and risk mitigation.
• Work with suppliers on technical queries and supporting design changes (ECO/CN).
• Conduct supplier capability assessments, audits and performance reviews to ensure quality, delivery and cost targets.
• Support first article builds and qualification processes for smooth development-to-production transition.
• Review BOM and engineering documentation to identify cost avoidance and global sourcing opportunities.
• Partner with global stakeholders to support project transfers and supply continuity initiatives.

• Manage RFQ activities and supplier selection across prototype, first build and production phases
• Identify, assess and onboard new suppliers across commodities such as machining, sheet metal, cable & harness, PCBA and contract manufacturing
• Evaluate alternate materials, fabrication methods and suppliers to support cost reduction and risk mitigation initiatives
• Work closely with suppliers on technical queries, resolving manufacturing issues and supporting design changes (ECO/CN) where required
• Conduct supplier capability assessments, audits and performance reviews to ensure quality, delivery and cost expectations are met
• Support first article builds and qualification processes, ensuring smooth transition from development to production
• Review BOM and engineering documentation to identify cost avoidance and global sourcing opportunities
• Partner with global stakeholders to support project transfers, supplier development and supply continuity initiatives

The Talent

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering discipline
• Prior experience in sourcing or procurement within a manufacturing environment, ideally supporting NPI or project-based work
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal fabrication or electromechanical assemblies
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Exposure to supplier qualification, audits and cost reduction initiatives
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across engineering, operations and suppliers
• Experience with ERP/PLM systems (e.g. SAP, Windchill, Creo, AutoCAD) is advantageous
