Job summary

Singapore Post is seeking an Engineer to be the custodian of the sortation machines on the conveyor belt system. Standing at two stories tall, these machines form the critical asset for timely sorting of mails, parcels and client items for delivery.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, work with operations to ensure good machine performance, monitor equipment, identify improvements, and coordinate with vendors on new equipment projects.

Qualifications

• Nitec/Higher Nitec or Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics required.
• Basic understanding of automation logic.
• 1–3 years in operations, production or facilities maintenance; fresh graduates considered.
• Knowledge of sorting equipment and material handling is an advantage.
• Safety certificates (WAH, etc.) are advantageous.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provides engineering support and maintenance of the sorting system and warehouse automation system.
• Carry out Preventive and Corrective Maintenance (PM & CM).
• Work closely with Operations to ensure good machine performance.
• Monitors equipment performance and executes the scheduled preventive maintenance program.
• Identify areas for improvement to sorting equipment and make recommendations for change.
• Liaise with vendors to troubleshoot, test, install and implement new equipment for quality, safety and productivity improvement projects.
• Feedback to Engineering Services Manager on work and equipment status regularly.
• Any work tasks assigned by the Team Leader (IC).

Requirements:

• Able to work on a 3-shift rotation schedule, including weekends.
• Nitec, Higher Nitec or Diploma, preferably in Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics.
• Basic understanding of simple automation logic
• 1–3 years of practical experience in an operations, production, and/or facilities maintenance environment. Fresh graduates with a positive attitude will also be considered.
• Knowledge of sorting equipment and material handling systems will be an advantage
• Having WAH or other relevant safety certificates will be an advantage.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills for documentation purposes.

Monday - Friday: 0745H to 1430H | Saturday: 0745H to 1700H | Sunday: Rest

Late Shift

Monday - Friday: 1315H to 2230H | Saturday: Off | Sunday: Rest

Night Shift

Monday - Thursday: 2145H to 0700H | Friday: Off | Saturday: Rest | Sunday: 1900H to 0700H
