Job summary

MORGAN MCKINLEY PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks an experienced Engineering Leader to define and drive the technical strategy across customer-facing applications and core platforms.

You will guide architecture decisions and ensure scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud applications on AWS, while mentoring senior engineers and setting engineering standards. You will partner with executives, Product, Finance and regional stakeholders to align technology priorities with business objectives,

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including 5+ years in an engineering leadership role.
• Proven experience managing and scaling multiple engineering teams.
• Hands-on background with Java, React/Next.js, microservices, PostgreSQL/SQL, AWS.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD, observability, automated testing and Agile/Scrum.
• Experience managing technology vendors and external partners.

Responsibilities

Roles & Responsibilities

Technical Strategy & Engineering Leadership

• Define and drive the technical strategy, roadmap and architecture across a portfolio of customer-facing applications and core platform services.
• Ensure applications are scalable, secure, highly available and optimised for performance on AWS.
• Champion engineering best practices across CI/CD, observability, automated testing and the full SDLC.
• Lead, mentor and develop multiple engineering teams and senior engineering leaders, fostering a culture of technical excellence and accountability.
• Oversee the delivery of engineering initiatives, ensuring high-quality and predictable execution.

Portfolio, Vendor & Stakeholder Management

• Oversee the development and evolution of customer-facing applications, backend platforms, APIs and integration services.
• Manage strategic relationships with technology vendors and outsourcing partners, including SLAs, performance, risk and contract deliverables.
• Drive cost optimisation across technology services and platforms.
• Partner closely with executive leadership, Product, Finance and regional business stakeholders to align technology priorities with business objectives.
• Communicate technical strategy, progress and risks clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skillsets & Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including at least 5 years in an engineering leadership role.
• Proven experience managing and scaling multiple engineering teams.
• Strong hands-on technical background in Java, React/Next.js, microservices, PostgreSQL/SQL and AWS.
• Extensive experience designing, deploying and operating cloud-based applications on AWS, including services such as ECS, Lambda, RDS and S3.
• Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices, including CI/CD, observability, automated testing and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience managing technology vendors and external partners, including contract negotiations and performance management.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business outcomes.
