Job summary

Good co India in Singapore seeks an experienced Engineering Leader to define and drive the company’s technology strategy and roadmap. You will scale and mentor cross-functional teams across software, platform engineering, DevOps and SRE, aligning with business priorities and executive leadership.

You will own delivery of complex programs, modernize platforms, and steer cloud adoption while upholding security, reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or related field.
• MBA or relevant leadership certifications are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the engineering strategy and technology roadmap.

Role & responsibilities

• Define and execute the overall engineering strategy, technology vision and technical roadmap in alignment with business objectives.
• Lead and scale high-performing engineering teams across software development, platform engineering, DevOps, SRE and other technical functions.
• Establish engineering standards, development practices, architecture principles and technology governance.
• Partner closely with the CEO, CTO, Product and other senior leaders to translate business priorities into engineering initiatives.
• Own the delivery of complex technology programs and ensure products are delivered with high quality, reliability and scalability.
• Drive product engineering, platform modernization, cloud adoption and digital transformation initiatives.
• Oversee software architecture and ensure systems are scalable, secure, maintainable and highly available.
• Establish and improve SDLC, Agile, CI/CD, DevOps, DevSecOps and engineering productivity practices.
• Define and track engineering KPIs, OKRs, delivery metrics, quality metrics and operational performance.
• Build engineering organizational structures, define team responsibilities and develop technical leadership capabilities.
• Lead talent acquisition, workforce planning, performance management, mentoring and succession planning for engineering teams.
• Own engineering budgets, resource allocation, technology investments and vendor relationships.
• Collaborate with Product and Design leadership to align engineering capacity with product roadmap and business priorities.
• Establish strong practices around security, compliance, risk management, reliability and disaster recovery.
• Drive adoption of appropriate technologies across cloud, microservices, Kubernetes, automation, AI/ML and modern software development platforms.
• Identify technical debt and prioritize architecture modernization and engineering improvement initiatives.
• Ensure effective incident management, root-cause analysis and continuous improvement of production systems.
• Build a culture of ownership, innovation, accountability, collaboration and continuous learning.
• Communicate engineering performance, technology risks, investment requirements and strategic initiatives to executive leadership.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and determine their potential business and engineering impact.

Preferred candidate profile

• 5 to 10 years of progressive experience in software engineering, engineering management, technology leadership or product engineering.
• Proven experience leading and scaling multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, microservices, APIs and scalable application development.
• Extensive experience with modern cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Strong knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, Kubernetes, Docker, Infrastructure as Code and SRE practices.
• Experience defining and executing engineering strategy, technology roadmaps and digital transformation initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to manage engineering budgets, resources, hiring plans and organizational capacity.
• Strong experience with Agile/Scrum, SDLC, engineering productivity and delivery management.
• Experience establishing engineering KPIs, OKRs, quality metrics and performance frameworks.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, application security, compliance, reliability and risk management.
• Experience partnering with Product, Business, Design, Sales and executive leadership to achieve business objectives.
• Strong track record of hiring, mentoring and developing senior engineers and engineering managers.
• Excellent executive communication, stakeholder management, negotiation and decision-making skills.
• Ability to balance technical excellence, business priorities, delivery timelines and cost considerations.
• Experience with technology modernization, cloud migration, platform engineering or large-scale engineering transformation is highly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related technical field.
• MBA, Master's degree or relevant leadership/technology certifications are advantageous.
