Job summary

Housing & Development Board is seeking engineers to deliver high-impact digital products from design to live operations. You will join a cross-functional team and contribute across the full software lifecycle, including cloud-native architecture, CI/CD pipelines, frontend and backend development, resilience engineering, and test automation.

GenAI-assisted workflows may be explored as we evolve development practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in modern frontend and backend web application development.
• Experience with cloud-native engineering on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with microservices architecture and scalable, fault-tolerant systems.
• Familiarity with event-driven patterns and messaging like SQS/SNS/Kinesis.
• Exposure to relational and non-relational stores (e.g., PostgreSQL, DynamoDB).
• Proficient with containerisation and infrastructure-as-code (Docker, Terraform).
• DevSecOps mindset with CI/CD and SAST/DAST awareness.
• Test-Driven Development and automated testing across the stack.

You will join a cross-functional engineering team that owns the end-to-end delivery of high-impact digital products — from solution design through to live operations. We operate on a you-build-it, you-run-it model, and our teams are structured to give every engineer the support and room to grow.

Working alongside fellow engineers, your Engineering Manager, Technical Lead, Product Owner and Product Manager, you will contribute to iterative delivery across the full software lifecycle — including cloud-native architecture, CI/CD pipelines, frontend and backend development, resilience engineering, and test automation. You will also have the opportunity to explore and apply emerging technologies, including GenAI-assisted development workflows, as we continuously evolve how we build and operate software.

[What you will be working on]

• Proficient in modern frontend and backend web application development, with experience in frameworks such as React, FastAPI, Express.js, Spring, or Django
• Experienced in cloud-native and serverless engineering on commercial cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure
• Experienced in loosely coupled architecture and application integration patterns such as microservices, with the ability to design and build systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, and resilient
• Experienced in event-driven and asynchronous design patterns, with familiarity in messaging and streaming technologies such as Amazon SQS, SNS, and Kinesis
• Experienced in working with relational and non-relational data stores such as PostgreSQL and Amazon DynamoDB
• Experienced in containerisation and infrastructure-as-code practices, using tools such as Docker, Amazon ECS, and Terraform
• Embraces a DevSecOps mindset, with practical experience in CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Git, GitLab, and GitHub
• Understands Secure-by-Design principles within Agile delivery, including Static Application Security Testing (SAST) and Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST)
• Practises Test-Driven Development and has experience with automated testing across the stack
• Has exposure to application and database performance optimisation
