Job summary

RWE Supply & Trading Asia-Pacific Pte. Ltd. in Singapore is hiring a Software Engineer for Back Office & Support Functions IT. The role focuses on maintaining business-critical Back Office applications, trading support and development of automation solutions across APAC.

You will work with global teams to design, develop, test and deploy improvements, manage incidents, enhance data quality and apply sound development practices including CI/CD and automated testing.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in software engineering, application development and production support for business-critical enterprise applications.
• Strong programming and scripting skills in C#, Python, SQL or comparable technologies.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex application and integration issues, with a good understanding of relational databases, data processing and system interfaces.
• Experience delivering workflow automation, application integrations and reporting solutions across the software development lifecycle.
• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices, including Git, CI/CD and automated testing, alongside application security, operational controls and change management.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into practical solutions and collaborate across global teams.
• An independent, organised and customer-focused approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Keep Back Office applications running reliably and support trade processing, clearing, settlement and other post-trade activities.
• Design, develop, test and deploy application improvements, collaborating with global colleagues on maintenance, releases, upgrades and production support.
• Strengthen application reliability through monitoring, operational controls, documentation and improved support processes.
• Translate business challenges into maintainable applications, scripts, APIs and workflow integrations that reduce manual effort and improve data quality.
• Automate reconciliations, reporting, data validation and document processing, applying AI-enabled capabilities where appropriate and approved.
• Act as a regional IT contact for APAC Support Functions, coordinating requests, incidents and priorities with the relevant Global IT owners.
