Job summary

VisionPower Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Pte Ltd (VSMC) is seeking a data-enabled software engineer to develop data models, integrate diverse data sources, and provide actionable insights through dashboards and predictive analytics.

You will design robust data models, build scalable back-end services with Flask and Python, and create interactive front-ends using React or Angular, while optimizing Oracle SQL queries and SAS data integrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in CS/IT or related field.
• 3+ years of software development, data integration, and full-stack deployment.
• Strong Python & Flask proficiency; SAS experience a plus.
• Frontend experience with React or Angular.
• Oracle SQL expertise and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust data models and integrated IT systems.
• Build, optimize, and maintain back-end services and APIs using Flask and Python.
• Develop and maintain interactive UIs using React or Angular.
• Write and optimize Oracle SQL queries for large data sets.
• Architect automated workflows for data collection and system monitoring.
• Manage data integration pipelines, including SAS data migrations.

You will be responsible to develop data models and analyze data to provide insights and support decision-making through visualizations and predictive modeling.

Key Responsibilities

• System Architecture: Design and develop robust data models and integrated IT systems that consolidate information from diverse sources into a unified technical infrastructure.
• Back-End Development: Build, optimize, and maintain scalable back-end services and APIs using Flask and Python to support high-performance data processing.
• Front-End Implementation: Develop and maintain interactive, responsive user interfaces using React or Angular frameworks to facilitate system interaction and reporting.
• Database Engineering: Write and optimize complex Oracle SQL queries, manage large-scale database performance, and ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Process Automation: Architect and implement automated workflows for data collection, system monitoring, and cross-platform integration to enhance operational efficiency.
• Integration & Maintenance: Manage data integration pipelines, including the extraction and migration of data from legacy sources like SAS into modern web environments.
• Technical Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional departments to translate business requirements into technical specifications and customized software solutions.
• System Optimization: Continuously assess and refactor codebases and system workflows to reduce technical debt, improve security, and enhance overall system reliability.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering field.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of solid experience in software development, data integration, and full-stack web application deployment.
• Back-End Expertise: Strong proficiency in Python and the Flask framework; experience with R for automation tasks is a plus.
• Front-End Expertise: Hands-on experience with modern JavaScript libraries/frameworks, specifically React and Angular.
• Database Management: Advanced skills in Oracle SQL, database schema design, and performance tuning for high-volume data sets.
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with SAS environments (SAS Coding) and the ability to integrate SAS data sources into web-based applications.
• Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills with a focus on clean code, documentation, and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
