Job summary

United Overseas Bank Ltd is seeking an experienced professional to join the Private Bank Middle Office Security Settlement team in Singapore. You will support trade settlements, liaise with Back Office and counterparties, and help resolve discrepancies across asset classes.

The role requires 3–6 years of securities settlement operations, strong analytical and communication skills, and proficiency in MS Office and Excel. Independent work style in a fast-paced environment is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Business, Banking/Finance, Accounting, or progress towards degree
• Minimum 3-6 years of operations experience in securities settlement
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Effective communication and analytical skills; with ability to work with all levels of the organization
• Familiar with MS Office Suite, especially Excel

Responsibilities

• Liaise with Back Office and counterparties to ensure accurate and timely settlement of security transactions
• Validate securities in PB system prior to processing
• Communicate settlement discrepancies to Front/Back Office and relevant parties with guidance on resolution
• Reconcile cash and security positions daily and resolve discrepancies
• Coordinate client portfolio transfer instructions across asset classes
• Disseminate corporate action notifications and ensure timely responses
• Maintain static data of securities in PB system
• Provide assistance and advice on security settlement matters

Job Description

The successful candidate will be part of the Private Bank Middle Office Security Settlement team providing middle office trade settlement support for security transactions and all other settlement related activities. These activities include:

• Liaison with Back Office and counter parties to ensure accurate and timely settlement of security transactions.
• Validate security transactions in PB system prior to instructing processing units.
• Communicate settlement discrepancies/exceptions to Front Office, Back Office and relevant parties including providing instructions and guidance on proper resolution of issue.
• Reconcile cash and security positions with internal and external counter parties on a daily basis and ensure timely resolution of any discrepancy.
• Coordinating with internal and external parties to process client’s portfolio transfer instructions involving different asset classes.
• Dissemination of corporate action notifications from custodians and ensuring timely receipt of response from Front Office.
• Maintenance of static data of securities in PB system
• Providing assistance and advice on security settlement subject matters.

Requirements:

• Degree/Diploma in Business, Banking/Finance, Accounting, or progress towards degree or
• equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 3-6 years of operations experience in securities settlement with product and settlement experience covering exchange traded instruments, fixed income, structured notes, unit trust, derivatives, FX, corporate action and asset transfer.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
• Effective communication and analytical skills; with demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels within the organization.
• Familiar with MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
