SBS Transit Limited in Singapore invites applications for a Maintenance Team Lead to oversee a team of Senior Technicians responsible for overhaul, repair, servicing and testing of rail and related components.
The role emphasizes compliance with work instructions, quality standards, safety and operational procedures, plus planning and coordinating tasks to meet daily production targets while maintaining tools, equipment and staff competencies.
Lead a team of Senior/Technicians to carry out overhaul/repair/servicing/testing of rail and other ancillary components to meet the daily production requirement.
Ensure the team comply with all overhaul/repair/servicing/testing requirements and related tasks with approved work instructions, quality procedures, safety and operational procedures, and good maintenance standards.
Plan and coordinate within the team and other teams to complete the assigned maintenance tasks within an established standard time.
Ensure the team has the necessary qualifications and authorization to carry out daily tasks and any assigned tasks.
Responsible for the safety, welfare and discipline of the teams.
Responsible for the upkeep of the team’s equipment/tools and working environment
Responsible for the team’s quality and standards of the maintenance work within the established standard time and in accordance with the Work Instructions and related procedures to meet the daily production.
Assist to develop, maintain and update Work Instruction, Risk Assessment, Procedures, Competency Management, Repair Compliance Checklist and Technical Documents relevant to the section.
Demonstrate sufficient ability in diagnostic and troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems.
Assist in forecasting and planning of resources needed by the teams to complete maintenance tasks and assigned tasks timely.
Perform supporting maintenance activities such as overhead crane operator, forklift driver, etc. as authorized and required by the supervisor.
Undertake any other tasks or functions that are incidental or ancillary to the performance of the works assigned by supervisor.

To ensure technical staff and contractors are competent, trained and certified to perform the servicing works.
To implement and conduct periodic safety inspection and safety audit for electronics workshop to ensure compliance with the specific standards.
Responsible for ensuring safety of maintenance activities.
Higher Nitec (with experience) or Diploma in Engineering (Electrical/ Electronic/ Mechanical/ Mechatronic Engineering).
Preferably a minimum of 5 years relevant working experience in overhaul/ repair/ servicing of electrical or mechanical equipment (such as train bogie).
Entry-level with good academic results will also be considered.
Experience in the railway environment will be an added advantage.
Must have analytical & fault-finding skills.
Understand at least two of electrical/electronic/pneumatic/mechanical systems.
Good working attitude with strong commitment to job assignments.
Able to communicate well with staff at all levels.
Have good initiative and strong troubleshooting skills.
Demonstrates strong leadership qualities and is capable of motivating teammates.
May be required to work on 3 rotating shifts and required to be on 24 hours standby for any unforeseen emergency recall.
