SBS Transit Limited is seeking a Maintenance Technician for SBST Rail to perform overhaul, repair and servicing of rail components, following approved procedures and safety rules.
The role requires technical education (Higher Nitec/Nitec) and 2 years of relevant electrical/mechanical overhaul experience, with adaptability for rotating shifts and 24 hours standby for emergencies.
Carry out overhaul/repair/servicing/testing of rail and other ancillary components assigned by supervisor.
Execute all tasks with the approved quality procedures and Work Instructions.
Execute assigned tasks and comply with the approved safety and operational procedures.
Attend the necessary training and courses to be able to carry out the maintenance tasks.
Responsible for the upkeep of the working environment
Able to participate and complete the training and courses provided by SBST Rail and achieve the necessary qualifications to perform maintenance work.
Be competent to carry out maintenance tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Able to complete the maintenance tasks within established standard times, and in accordance with the Work Instructions and related procedures.
Perform supporting maintenance activities such as overhead crane operator, forklift driver, etc. as authorized and required by the supervisor.
Perform housekeeping and cleaning tasks at the workplace to ensure workplace order and hygiene.
Undertake any other tasks or functions that are incidental or ancillary to the performance of the works assigned by supervisor.

Undertake daily safety checks and only sign off work records when components are fit for service.
Carry out maintenance activities in a safe way according to the training received.
Exercise safety always and in accordance with established safety procedures.
Responsible for the safety of self and all co-workers, inclusive of contractors.
Undertake work in accordance with Company Rules & Procedures.
Higher Nitec or Nitec in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering).
Preferably with relevant experience.
Preferably to have at least 2 years of electrical or mechanical system (such as train bogie) overhaul experience.
Good analytical & fault-finding skills.
Knowledge in electrical/electronic/pneumatic/mechanical systems.
Possess planning and prioritizing skills.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Have a good initiative, able to work well independently in demanding situations.
May be required to work on 3 rotating shifts and required to be on 24 hours standby for any unforeseen emergency recall.
