Job summary

CANATEC PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a dedicated technician to handle technical service, maintenance, and troubleshooting of data center cooling systems. You will diagnose issues, perform servicing, and ensure high availability of CRAC and precision air conditioning equipment.

You will also provide on-site client support and training, maintain detailed service reports, and manage site contractors while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• ITE or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 2 years' hands-on preventive maintenance experience in cooling systems.
• Sound electrical/mechanical troubleshooting abilities.
• Knowledge of CRAC/precision cooling is a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Job description

With our ongoing expansion, we are seeking a passionate and dedicated professional to join our growing company.

Job Description:

1)Technical Service & Maintenance:

• Perform periodic servicing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of cooling systems.
• Diagnose hardware/software faults, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.
• Conduct equipment power-up/down procedures and respond promptly to e-calls (emergency calls).

2) Client Support & Training:

• Provide technical support and onsite training on Operation & Maintenance Manuals (OMM).
• Maintain strong client relationships.
• Liaise with customer engineering departments to ensure compliance with company procedures and quality guidelines.

3) Documentation & Reporting:

• Complete detailed service reports after each servicing/e-call.
• Submit weekly/monthly reports on work activities, progress, and remedial actions.
• Maintain accurate filing, documentation, and tracking of all service records.

4) Site & Contractor Management:

• Monitor and manage contractor activities to ensure adherence to safety/operational procedures.
• Review site "Events and Actions," implementing corrective measures as needed.
• Plan, execute, and update daily work schedules.

5) Safety & Compliance:

• Strictly follow data center safety rules, regulations, and quality standards.
• Ensure all work activities comply with occupational safety guidelines.
• Support ad-hoc tasks assigned by superiors.

Requirements

• Minimum ITE/Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in preventive maintenance engineering with hands-on experience in cooling systems, preferably involving data centre cooling solutions, CRAC, precision air-conditioning or other mission-critical cooling infrastructure.
• Proficient in electrical/mechanical systems troubleshooting.
• Practical knowledge of CRAC, WDS (water detection system), or related critical infrastructure is an advantage.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills (written/verbal).
• Highly organized with ability to prioritize tasks in high-pressure environments.
• Team player with a positive, motivated, and willing-to-learn attitude.
• Candidates must demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to perform standby duties as required by operational needs.
• Able to perform manual tasks in data center environments.
