Job summary

Illumina Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a Manufacturing Equipment Engineer 2 to lead preventive maintenance on optical, mechanical, electrical, and fluidic systems in a high-volume consumables production line. You will train Technicians and Engineer I staff to improve performance and ensure uptime.

You will mentor the shift team, drive 6S and continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborate across functions to meet production KPIs while upholding safety and GMP standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical or Mechatronics.
• 2+ years with Bachelor’s degree or 8+ years with Diploma in manufacturing environment.
• Experience in GMP controlled manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of PLCs, HMI/SCADA, sensors, actuators, and industrial communications.
• Software programming skills (Python, SQL or C#).
• Advanced understanding of Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical/Pneumatic.
• Must comply with cGMP, quality and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead preventive maintenance on optical, mechanical, electrical, and fluidics systems.
• Train Technicians and Engineer I staff to improve performance.
• Mentor team to meet production KPIs and shift targets.
• Identify spare parts in SAP and manage inventory levels.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives (6S) and process automation.
• Investigate incidents and prepare formal reports under supervision.
• Provide technical support to shifts and coordinate activities to meet targets.
