Job summary

Illumina Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a Manufacturing Equipment Engineer to provide technical leadership in sustaining smart manufacturing equipment in a high-volume consumables production environment. You will define and carry out maintenance across optical, mechanical, electrical, and fluidics systems to improve uptime and reliability.

You will troubleshoot equipment issues, train Technicians, and mentor team members, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with cGMP.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with relevant engineering field and work experience in manufacturing/production.
Diploma with extensive experience in manufacturing/production; shift lead experience considered.
Experience in GMP controlled manufacturing environments.
Advanced understanding of Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical/Pneumatic systems.
Experience troubleshooting PLCs (Beckhoff/AB).
Willingness to undergo training and adapt to cGMP and safety instructions.
Ability to work in shift-based, potentially noisy environments with PPE.
Strong discipline, integrity and multi-tasking abilities.
Color identification for component handling in Illumina processes.

Responsibilities

Complete required training within a stipulated time frame.
Execute tasks following cGMP, Quality, Safety and Work instructions.
Ensure safety, quality, and company policy compliance at all times.
Maintain proper housekeeping (6S) in the area.
Report and escalate work-related or personal concerns.
Meet daily production schedule and performance targets.
Take on additional tasks when required.
Perform preventive maintenance with supervision.
Implement repair procedures for equipment with supervision.
Update critical spare parts in SAP to ensure continuous operation.
Lead improvement initiatives in maintenance, drive 6S, and standardize work instructions.
Lead incident investigations with supervision and guidance.
Mentor and coordinate technicians to meet KPI and shift targets.
Contribute to skills development and on-the-job training for technicians.
Demonstrate proficiency in repair and preventive maintenance of basic smart manufacturing equipment.
Identify opportunities to automate manual processes for quality and efficiency.
Collect and interpret basic operational data to identify trends in equipment efficiency.
Be a role model for technicians.
