Job summary

GENII IDEAS(S) PTE LTD is seeking a Site Safety Coordinator to oversee field safety, conduct inspections, and ensure compliant practices on-site.

You will lead PTW verification, toolbox talks, and incident investigations while maintaining logs and preparing for regulatory audits. This role also requires coordinating safety induction for workers and visitors and ensuring emergency preparedness.

Responsibilities

• Site Inspection & Hazard Identification: conduct daily site walkthroughs to audit unsafe acts/conditions and PPE use.
• Hazard Reporting: log non-conformances and initiate corrective actions.
• Equipment Verification: ensure machinery and tools have valid certificates and monthly inspection tags.
• PTW Verification: review high-risk activities and ensure valid permits (hot work, confined spaces, heights, lifting, excavation, LOTO).
• Toolbox Talks: lead daily/weekly safety briefings on hazards and controls.
• Safety Induction: conduct safety orientation for workers, subcontractors, and visitors.
• Specialized Training: coordinate toolbox briefings on heat stress, fall protection, SDS awareness.
• Emergency Preparedness: inspect fire extinguishers, first aid kits, eyewash, and assembly points.
• Drill Coordination: organize evacuation and response drills.
• First Response: act as key responder during incidents.
• Incident Reporting: assist in notification, investigation, and RCA of near-misses and accidents.
• Record Keeping: maintain safety logs, PTW registers, and injury logs.
• Audit Preparation: assist during external inspections and ISO/OHSAS audits.

A Site Safety Coordinator

Core Scope of Responsibilities

Detailed Duties & Operational Tasks

• Site Inspection & Hazard Identification
  • Daily Inspections: Conduct routine site walkthroughs to audit unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, housekeeping, and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Hazard Reporting: Identify physical, chemical, mechanical, and electrical hazards; log non-conformances and initiate immediate corrective actions.
  • Equipment Verification: Check that machinery, scaffolds, lifting gear, and power tools carry valid inspection certificates and color-coded monthly inspection tags.
• Operational Control & Work Permits
  • Permit-to-Work (PTW) Verification: Review and inspect high-risk activities prior to commencement, ensuring valid permits are issued for:
  • Hot work (welding, cutting)
  • Confined space entry
  • Working at height / Scaffolding
  • Lifting operations and heavy rigging
  • Excavation and trenching
  • Energy isolation (Lockout/Tagout – LOTO)
  • Toolbox Talks: Lead or supervise daily/weekly pre-shift safety briefings (Toolbox Meetings) to inform workers of specific hazards and required control measures for the day's tasks.
• Training & Onboarding
  • Safety Induction: Conduct safety orientation for new workers, sub-contractors, and site visitors before granting site access.
  • Specialized Training: Coordinate localized toolbox briefings on specific topics (e.g., heat stress management, fall protection, chemical handling/SDS awareness).
• Incident Prevention & Emergency Response
  • Emergency Preparedness: Maintain and inspect site emergency response infrastructure, including fire extinguishers, first aid kits, emergency eyewash stations, and assembly points.
  • Drill Coordination: Participate in or organize periodic evacuation and emergency response drills.
  • First Response: Serve as a key responder during on-site incidents or medical emergencies.
• Investigation, Documentation & Compliance
  • Incident Reporting: Assist in the immediate notification, initial investigation, and root-cause analysis (RCA) of near-misses, dangerous occurrences, and accidents.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain site safety logs, inspection checklists, PTW registers, injury logs, and corrective action tracking lists.
  • Audit Preparation: Assist safety managers during external regulatory inspections (e.g., Ministry of Manpower / OSHA audits) and ISO/OHSAS compliance audits.
