NINE SUITES CONSTRUCTION PTE. LTD.

is seeking a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Coordinator to implement and monitor safety policies in a construction setting, conduct risk assessments, promote safety awareness, and ensure regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include inspections, audits, incident investigations, safety training coordination, and maintaining HSE documentation; you will address hazards and drive corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Minimum Advance Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health or related field.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in workplace safety and health, preferably in construction.
• Comprehensive understanding of safety regulations and standards.
• Risk assessment and management.
• Incident investigation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve HSE policies and procedures.
• Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments; identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate safety training programs and maintain training records.
• Investigate incidents and near misses; determine root causes and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations including WSH Act, EPMA, NEA, and other standards.
• Maintain and update HSE documentation.
• Support environmental initiatives such as waste reduction, recycling, and energy conservation.
• Collaborate with departments to improve workplace safety and minimize environmental impact.
• Participate in emergency response planning and drills.
• Promote culture of safety awareness via toolbox talks and campaigns.

About the role

The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Coordinator is responsible for implementing, and monitoring safety and health policies and programs to ensure a safe and compliant working environment. This role involves conducting risk assessments, promoting safety awareness, ensuring compliance with regulations, and managing incident investigations.

Key responsibilities

• Contributes to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures.

• Conduct routine and periodic safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments, identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.

• Coordinate safety training programs and maintain training records for employees and contractors.

• Investigate incidents and near misses, determine root causes, and implement corrective/preventive actions.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant local regulations and statutory requirements, including but not limited to the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act, the Environmental Protection and Management Act (EPMA), National Environment Agency (NEA) regulations, and other applicable legislation and industry standards.

• Maintain and update other HSE documentation.

• Support environmental initiatives such as waste reduction, recycling, and energy conservation.

• Collaborate with various departments to improve workplace safety and health as well as minimize environmental impact.

• Participate in emergency response planning and drills.

• Promote a culture of safety awareness through toolbox talks, campaigns, and visual aids.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum Advance Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health or a related field; relevant certifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in workplace safety and health, preferably in construction industry
