Job summary

Wilmar International Limited in Singapore is seeking a Shipping Operations professional to handle day-to-day shipping operations, prepare and review shipping documents, and ensure shipments are executed on schedule. You will coordinate with suppliers, buyers, ship brokers, ship owners, agents, surveyors, and other stakeholders to support smooth loading, shipment and delivery.

Mandarin proficiency is an added advantage for liaising with China counterparts.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in any discipline.
• 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in shipping operations, trade operations or a related field.
• Experience in commodity trading, letters of credit and shipping documentation will be an added advantage.
• Meticulous, responsible and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in English.
• Proficiency in Mandarin will be an added advantage, as the role requires liaison with China counterparts.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day shipping operations and documentation to ensure shipments are executed accurately and on schedule
• Coordinate with suppliers, buyers, ship brokers, ship owners, agents, surveyors, insurance companies and other stakeholders to support smooth loading, shipment and delivery
• Prepare, review and follow up on shipping documents, including letters of credit, bank negotiations and collection documentation
• Track and follow up on shipping claims, demurrage matters and related operational issues to ensure prompt resolution
