Job summary

ZIM is seeking dedicated planners to design safe, seaworthy stowage plans for container vessels and to advocate round-trip planning across regions. You will ensure compliance with safety, stability, and dangerous goods segregation while optimizing vessel utilization and coordinating with Marine, Terminal Operations, Network, Deployment, and regional teams.

Fresh graduates or candidates with 1–3 years of non-maritime experience are welcome; diploma or bachelor’s degree preferred, and familiarity

• Experience in Stowage Planning, Terminal Planning, Seafaring or Marine Operations is advantageous.
• Fresh graduates or 1–3 years of non-maritime work experience welcome.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing safe, seaworthy, and operationally efficient stowage plans for container vessels
• Advocating and executing round-trip stowage planning across regions
• Ensuring full compliance with safety, stability, stress, and dangerous goods segregation requirements
• Optimizing vessel utilization to achieve maximum intake with minimum operational cost
• Driving key planning objectives including Trim Optimization, Crane Split, Shiftings, Master Planning, and Slot Utilization
• Following up closely with terminals and vessel command to ensure smooth execution of stowage plans
• Proactively identifying and addressing operational risks or constraints that may impact vessel operations
• Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders such as Marine, Terminal Operations, Network, Deployment, and Regional teams
• Maintaining accurate system updates, records, and documentation
• Contributing to the establishment, review, and continuous improvement of Global Planning SOPs
