Airswift, a leader in maritime staffing, invites applications for the Regional Stowage Planning Manager position based in Singapore. You will lead vessel stowage planning across the network, ensuring safe and efficient operations while coordinating with planning teams and ports.

Key responsibilities include developing guidelines, optimising crane and cargo operations, validating load plans for stability, and driving continuous improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, maritime studies, transportation, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in vessel operations or maritime logistics.
  • Hands-on vessel planning experience for large vessels.
  • Familiarity with vessel stowage planning systems and ability to learn new technologies.
  • Demonstrated project coordination or management experience, preferably in operational improvement or capacity optimisation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and distribute vessel stowage guidelines and updates to planning teams across the network.
  • Work with vessel planning teams to optimise crane utilisation and cargo operations for faster port turnaround.
  • Drive improvements in stowage practices to reduce cargo rehandling and boost efficiency.
  • Validate vessel load plans against stability parameters and cargo requirements.
  • Ensure planners receive accurate and up-to-date planning data files for stowage prep.
  • Maintain planning procedures, documentation, and system-related processes with vendors on upgrades and issues.
  • Administer and track planning system licences and access for teams.
  • Monitor planning office performance via KPIs and provide guidance for improvements.
  • Support initiatives to reduce fuel usage and improve vessel productivity through port collaboration.
  • Build strong internal and external relationships to identify planning and terminal improvements.

Job description

A leader in maritime shipping industry is currently expanding and looking for highly qualified candidates for the Regional Stowage Planning Manager to be based in Singapore.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop, review, and distribute vessel stowage guidelines and operational updates to planning teams across the network on a timely basis.
  • Work closely with vessel planning teams to optimise crane utilisation and cargo operations, enabling faster vessel turnaround at ports.
  • Drive continuous improvements in stowage practices to reduce cargo rehandling and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Validate vessel load plans against stability parameters and cargo allocation requirements to ensure safe and effective vessel utilisation.
  • Ensure planners receive accurate and up-to-date planning data files required for vessel stowage preparation.
  • Maintain and enhance stowage planning procedures, documentation, and system-related processes while coordinating with software vendors on upgrades, maintenance, and issue resolution.
  • Administer and track planning system licences, ensuring operational teams have the necessary access and support.
  • Monitor the performance of planning offices through KPI tracking, providing guidance, coaching, and recommendations for operational improvements.
  • Support initiatives aimed at reducing fuel consumption and improving vessel productivity through collaboration with ports, terminals, and operational stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external partners, gathering feedback and identifying opportunities to improve planning and terminal performance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Maritime Studies, Transportation, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience within the vessel operations, or maritime logistics industry.
  • Hands-on vessel planning experience for large vessels.
  • Familiarity with vessel stowage planning systems and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Demonstrated project coordination or project management experience, preferably in operational improvement or capacity optimisation initiatives.
