Job summary

ZIM Integrated Shipping Services is seeking a Planner to design safe stowage plans for container vessels and drive round-trip planning across regions. You will ensure safety, stability, and dangerous goods compliance while optimizing vessel utilization and coordinating with terminals and vessel command.

The role requires proactive, analytical thinkers with strong English skills and a willingness to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 maritime environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree (any discipline).
• Experience in Stowage Planning, Terminal Planning, Seafaring, or Marine Operations is an advantage.
• Fresh graduates or candidates with 1–3 years of non-maritime work experience are welcome.
• Good command of written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Design safe, seaworthy, and operationally efficient stowage plans for container vessels.
• Advocate and execute round-trip stowage planning across regions.
• Ensure full compliance with safety, stability, stress, and dangerous goods segregation rules.
• Optimize vessel utilization to maximize intake and minimize operational cost.
• Drive key planning objectives: Trim Optimization, Crane Split, Shiftings, Master Planning, Slot Utilization.
• Coordinate with terminals and vessel command for smooth execution of stowage plans.
• Identify and address operational risks impacting vessel operations.
• Collaborate with Marine, Terminal Operations, Network, Deployment, and Regional teams.
• Maintain accurate system updates, records and documentation.
• Contribute to establishing, reviewing, and improving Global Planning SOPs.
