Job summary

ASAHI KASEI SYNTHETIC RUBBER SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. is seeking a dedicated plant operator in Singapore. The role requires operating and monitoring plant equipment to ensure efficient production while adhering to safety and operating procedures.

The ideal candidate should have a diploma in Chemical Engineering with at least 2 years of relevant experience in a chemical processing environment, preferably with knowledge of polymerization and extrusion.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years work experience in a chemical processing environment.
• Experience in polymerization and/or extrusion is advantageous.
• Basic knowledge of chemical processing with understanding ISO standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and control plant equipment for production.
• Follow documented procedures and regulations.
• Report unsafe plant conditions to supervisor.

Job description

Duties and responsibilities:

• Operate, monitor, and control plant equipment and systems to ensure safe and efficient production.
• Apply chemical plant operation knowledge to follow documented procedures (e.g., Standard Operating Procedure‑SOP, EHS regulations, risk assessment).
• Carry out minor troubleshooting and have good knowledge to safely prepare equipment for maintenance.
• Capable to recognize unsafe plant condition and promptly report any near miss / deviations / incidents to his supervisor.
• To demonstrate strong ownership, team spirit, challenge and sincerity.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Nitec in Chemical engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years work experience in a chemical processing environment. Experience in polymerization and/or extrusion is advantageous.
• Possess basic Knowledge of chemical processing with working knowledge of ISO14001, ISO9001/IATF16949, ISO 45001, SS651.
• Able to work shift in a fast‑paced environment.
