Job summary

OCTOPACK SEA PTE. LTD. is seeking an Engineering Services Manager for our Service Centre/Warehouse Facility in Singapore. You will provide technical leadership for a 4-person team, drive maintenance strategies, and ensure timely repairs and on-site support.

The role requires hands-on supervision of engineers and technicians, strong PLC/electro-mechanical skills, and deep knowledge of warehouse equipment and safety standards. A proactive, data-driven approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or related discipline.
• 5–7 years industrial machinery maintenance experience; 2–3 years in supervision.
• Hands-on capability with electro-mechanical systems; hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs.
• Experience with warehouse equipment like conveyors, AGVs/AMRs, pallet lifters, sorting systems.
• Strong organizational skills in workforce scheduling and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a 4-person technical team and supervise 2 engineers and 2 technicians.
• Plan daily/weekly/monthly work schedules and preventive maintenance.
• Oversee maintenance of MHE including forklifts, reach trucks, conveyors; manage RCFA.
• Ensure repairs comply with Singapore's WSH workplace safety regulations.

Job Overview

Position: Engineering Services Manager (Warehouse Equipment & Service Centre)

Department: Engineering / Technical Operations / Service Operations

Reports To: General Manager

Team Size: Direct management of 4 technical personnel ( 2 Engineers and 2 Technicians )

Employment Type: Full-Time

Location: Service Centre / Warehouse Facility

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership & Team Management
  • Direct Supervision: Lead, mentor, and manage a technical team consisting of 2 Engineers and 2 Technicians .
  • Hands-on Support: Actively participate in advanced troubleshooting, component repairs, and maintenance of industrial machinery alongside the team.
  • Performance Control: Review service reports, validate technical findings, and sign off on equipment installation / rebuilds.
• Scheduling & Service Center Operations
  • Workforce Scheduling: Coordinate and plan daily, weekly, and monthly work schedules, shift rotations, and preventive maintenance timetables for the team.
  • Resource Optimization: Allocate engineers and technicians effectively between in-house service centre refurbishments and urgent on-site warehouse breakdowns.
  • Turnaround Management: Oversee the repair pipeline within the service centre to ensure simple machinery is serviced, tested, and returned to operation within strict SLA timelines.
• Machinery Maintenance & Equipment Expertise
  • Warehouse Systems Maintenance: Have experience in managing the operational health of industrial material handling equipment (MHE), including forklifts,reach trucks, conveyor systems etc.
  • Diagnostic & Predictive Maintenance: Implement root-cause failure analysis (RCFA) for reoccurring mechanical or electrical machinery issues and establish data-driven preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Spare Parts Management: Supervise the service centre inventory, ensuring essential spare parts and diagnostic tools are consistently stocked and maintained.
• Safety & Standards Compliance
  • Ensure all repairs and operations inside the warehouse environment and service centre comply strictly with Singapore's Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) acts and safety regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related industrial discipline.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 to 7 years of industrial machinery maintenance experience, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or engineering leadership role.
• Technical Skills: Must possess strong hands-on capability with electro-mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC control units. Proven experience handling warehouse equipment (e.g., conveyors, AGVs/AMRs, pallet lifters, or high-speed sorting systems). Advanced skill in reading and interpreting mechanical blueprints and complex electrical schematics.
• Soft Skills: Highly organized with exceptional capabilities in workforce scheduling , resource planning, and technical problem-solving.
