Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, marine engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 12 years in maintenance, plant fitout and equipment engineering roles, including 4+ years in leadership.
• Proven CapEx and maintenance program management to improve equipment reliability.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment and control systems.
• Experience in GMP-regulated environments (pharmaceutical, medical device, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Lead equipment engineering team to ensure successful delivery of manufacturing equipment capex and technical programs.
• Develop and mentor equipment engineers; foster collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Drive capability development and process improvements for engineering objectives.
• Support/lead installation, commissioning and qualification activities with safety, quality, and regulatory adherence.
• Provide technical leadership for equipment engineering, troubleshooting, and change management.
• Coordinate cross-functional projects with Engineering, Operations, Quality, EHS, Supply Chain and Finance; liaise with external providers.
• Monitor project performance: schedule, budget, milestones, resources, risk management.
• Maintain project documentation, reporting, and controls for compliance and audits.

Job Summary

The Manager, Equipment is responsible for leading the equipment engineering function to ensure the safe, reliable, efficient, and compliant operation of manufacturing assets at West, Singapore. This role provides leadership for equipment engineering capital expenditure (CapEx) projects and equipment performance management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the equipment engineering team to ensure the successful delivery of manufacturing equipment capex and technical program.
• Develop the team of equipment engineers while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Drive internal capability development and process improvements to ensure effective delivery of engineering objectives.
• Support/lead the technical review, installation, commissioning and qualification activities, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, regulatory requirements, and applicable engineering standards.
• Provide technical leadership for equipment engineering and troubleshooting, root cause investigations, continuous improvement and change management.
• Drive cross-functional project coordination with Engineering, Operations, Quality, EHS, Supply Chain, and Finance and with external services providers to enable successful project execution.
• Monitor performance across multiple projects, including schedule adherence, budget utilization, milestone achievement, resource needs, and risk management.
• Ensure project documentation, reporting, and controls are maintained to support reporting, compliance, audit readiness, and inspection requirements.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, marine engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in maintenance, plant fitout and equipment engineering roles, including a min of 4 years in leadership position.
• Proven experience in managing capex and maintenance programs and improving equipment reliability
• Strong technical knowledge in manufacturing equipment, and control systems
• Experience working in GMP-regulated environments (pharmaceutical, medical device, or similar)

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• PMP or equivalent project management certification.
• Working knowledge of PLC systems, Industrial Automation, and Controls.
• Hands-on engineering experience with equipment hookup projects, such as autoclave, molding presses, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and compounding equipment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization.
• Willingness to provide after-hours or weekend support when required to support plant operations and program needs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, project reporting tools and AutoCAD.

Travel Requirements

• Occasional overseas travel may be required.
