Job summary

Applied Materials Singapore is seeking a supplier quality engineer to serve as the primary focal for the Supplier Engineering Excursion Response Team (SERT). You will evaluate supplier performance, drive continuous improvement, and lead quality problem resolutions across the supplier site.

You will train suppliers, conduct process audits, and help develop, document, and execute Applied Materials' worldwide Quality Management System, applying 8D methodology and rigorous root-cause analysis.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrates depth and/or breadth of expertise in supplier management, manufacturing engineering and quality engineering in semiconductor industry.
  • Interprets internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services.
  • May lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and complexity.
  • Leads others to solve complex problems; uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions.
  • Impacts the achievement of factory system deliveries, customer, operational, project or service objectives; work is guided by functional policies.
  • Communicates difficult concepts and negotiates with others to adopt a different point of view and resolve complex problems.

Responsibilities

  • Primary focal for Supplier Engineering Excursion Response Team (SERT). SERT is the liaison between Mfg Ops and Supplier Engineering Quality Org with the mantra to protect the factory from supplier caused line down.
  • Leads excursion response, evaluates supplier performance and capabilities, and drives continuous improvement opportunities at the supplier site.
  • Leads quality problem resolutions and incident management, drive root cause and correction action. Identifies and drives broad-based systemic supplier resolutions at the process level.
  • Utilize enterprise-wide software to adjudicate and document quality issues, specifically, Containment, Root Cause, Corrective Action, and Corrective Action Verification through 8D methodology.
  • Help train suppliers, engage in process audits, promote sound testing methodologies using corporate compliances and industry standards for guidance.
  • Support in developing, documenting, and executing the worldwide Applied's Quality Management System and industry-standard documentation as reference material.
