Job summary

Dyson seeks a Principal Engineer to establish and lead Dyson's wireless power transfer capability. The role focuses on architecture leadership across electromagnetic coupling, resonant power conversion, control, EMC, product integration, verification and industrialisation.

As a senior individual‑contributor, you will apply hands‑on analysis, simulation, laboratory work and design decisions, balancing performance with manufacturability and cost across Dyson product categories.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent professional experience in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
• Industrial product‑development experience in wireless power transfer or related power electronics.
• Proven ownership of TX/RX hardware from concept to production.
• Strong understanding of inductive/resonant coupling and coil design.
• Experience with electromagnetic/circuit simulation and lab measurements.
• Experience resolving EMC/ EMI, efficiency, thermal, FOD, and protection challenges.

Responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end wireless power architecture for transmitter and receiver systems.
• Lead coil design, resonant networks and thermal management.
• Oversee power electronics, control, sensing and communication interfaces.
• Define verification strategies and support regulatory/compliance activities.
• Mentor engineers and influence cross‑functional teams.
