Job summary

The Bank of New York Mellon in Singapore seeks a Senior Vice President of AI Governance & Controls to lead regulatory engagement and governance across APAC. You will shape AI and data governance standards, advise product and engineering teams on risk, and drive cross-functional collaboration with risk, compliance, and legal groups.

As the regional expert, you will translate regulatory developments into practical controls, embed governance into development workflows, and report progress to APAC

Qualifications

• Experience delivering governance initiatives within banking or tech industry.
• Engagement with regulators or standard-setting bodies on AI/data governance.
• Understanding of model risk, data lineage, and governance tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead regulatory engagement on AI and data governance in APAC with regulators (MAS, HKMA, etc.).
• Represent BNY in industry groups shaping APAC AI governance frameworks.
• Translate regulatory developments into actionable guidance for tech teams.
• Act as regional expert advising product/engineering on risks and safeguards.
• Embed AI governance into day-to-day development and delivery workflows.
• Collaborate across risk, compliance, legal, data management, and technology.
• Monitor industry/regulatory changes and update governance practices.
• Provide transparent progress reporting to APAC senior leadership.
