Job summary

NCS, a leading AI Tech Services company, seeks a Senior Telco Network Engineer to own network design, implementation and post‑sales support for LAN, Data Centre and WAN, with hands‑on operations.

You will drive quality solutions, ensure customer satisfaction, and contribute to automation using SDN, telemetry and AI‑assisted use cases while guiding junior engineers.

This role offers exposure to vendor equipment from Cisco, Juniper and Huawei in a dynamic client‑facing setting.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in IT-related discipline.
• 3–5 years hands-on experience in network engineering.
• Experience with switches, routers, firewalls.
• Experience with BGP, MP-BGP, EIGRP, OSPF.
• Experience with MPLS L3VPN/L2VPN/EVPN/Segment routing.
• Experience with DC Fabric, FabricPath, MC-Lag, VPC, VXLAN.
• Familiarity with carrier-grade equipment (Cisco/NCS/ Huawei/ Juniper).
• CCIE/HCIE/CCNP or related certificates preferred.
• Good problem solving and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage/implement network infrastructure projects (LAN & WAN) and security.
• Work with project team to deliver projects through commissioning.
• Assist Project Manager with network design, site prep, risk mitigation.
• Configure, troubleshoot, monitor and test systems per specs.
• Provide resolutions and temporary/permanent fixes for incidents.
• Gather requirements to plan and implement infrastructure per SLA.
• Align ITSM/ITIL processes in change, incident, problem, release management.
• Prepare proposals and solution presentations.
• Promote model-driven telemetry, SDN controllers, and intent-based networking.
• Contribute to AI-assisted autonomous network use cases (fault detection, capacity management, automation).

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be working as a consultant responsible in providing network project implementation, post-sales consultancy and network maintenance support, particularly in the area of network architectures (LAN, Data Centre and WAN). You will also be involved in hands-on operations in network maintenance.

Progressively, you will own technical design in implementation of technical solutions. Ensuring quality technical solutions and drive towards the highest levels of customer satisfaction and improvement in professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage/implement network infrastructure projects covering in area of Telecom Networks (LAN & WAN) and security system.
• Manage/implement, by project basis, working with project team members in implementing and delivering projects till commissioning.
• Assist Project Manager in various aspects of project implementation, including network design, site preparation, risks identification and mitigation
• Tasks include performing network/systems configurations, troubleshooting errors/problems, monitoring and/or testing systems performance, and contribute to the design of technical solutions for customer environments adherence to scope of work.
• Proactively provides solutions to prevent problems from occurring and/or to provide resolution for technical issues.
• Gather business and/or application requirements on the infrastructure to plan, design, install, test & implement systems in accordance with the specifications & service level.
• Aligned or enhanced ITSM/ITIL methodologies in daily operations e.g. Change, Incident, problem, release management & CMDB.
• Respond promptly to incident, root cause analysis & provide temporary and/or permanent resolution of incidents escalated. Provide timely status updates to relevant parties.
• Implement service continuity measures, i.e., backup/restore procedures & disaster recovery plan, to ensure continuous operation of the business.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks.
• Assist in preparation of proposals and solution presentations.
• Drive adoption of model-driven telemetry, SDN controllers, and intent-based networking.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of AI-assisted or autonomous network use cases, such as:
  • Proactive fault detection and root-cause analysis
  • Predictive capacity management
  • Automated remediation and closed-loop operations

• Diploma/ Degree in IT-related discipline
• 3 – 5 years of hands‑on experience
• Experienced in implementing and administrating network devices such as Switches, Routers, Firewalls.
• Experienced in implementing and administrating advanced network routing protocols such as BGP, MP-BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, network Security.
• Experienced and knowledgeable in implementing MPLS L3VPN, L2VPN, EVPN, Segment routing etc.
• Experience implementing advanced switching technology including DC Fabric, Fabric path, MC-Lag, VPC, VXLAN etc.
• Experienced in Administration and troubleshooting in network environment.
• Exposure with carrier-grade network equipment (Cisco ASR9K, NCS5500, N9K, Huawei NE5000E, NE40E, Juniper MX2000, MX960 etc) will be added advantage.
• Certifications such as CCIE/HCIE/CCNP and other relevant IT industry certificates will be preferred.
• Possess good analytical and trouble-shooting skills in the area of technical fault isolation and rectification
• Possess good working knowledge in multiple vendor equipment like Cisco, Juniper, Huawei router.
• Practical experience with network automation and scripting (Python preferred).
• Familiarity with automation and orchestration tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or equivalent.
• Experience working with SDN controllers, telemetry, and streaming data is an advantage.
• Knowledge of AI/ML concepts applied to networking or autonomous networking frameworks is highly desirable.
