Job summary

Linde Group in Singapore seeks a senior process engineer to provide technical leadership for continuous plant operation and to own performance, reliability and efficiency of a designated plant area.

You will mentor operations, advise on operating parameters for optimized mode, and lead troubleshooting with maintenance teams to improve availability and productivity. This role requires strong collaboration across global support functions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering with 10+ years of process engineering and plant operation experience.
• Experience in troubleshooting and optimizing process plants and/or EPC project knowledge.
• Familiarity with industrial gas plants and related oil & gas/refinery sectors.

Responsibilities

• Lead process reviews, feasibility studies, and performance analyses for continuous plant operation.
• Own technical aspects of plant area performance, reliability, and efficiency.
• Advise operations on optimal parameters balancing plant constraints and sustainability.
• Lead troubleshooting of systemic issues with maintenance and operations teams.
• Provide technical support for reliability projects and productivity improvements.
• Prepare cost-benefit justifications and investment analyses for improvements.
• Take a leadership role in plant turnarounds, startups, and commissioning activities.
• Support turnaround planning with scope identification, supervision, and QA.
• Develop guidelines for critical operating procedures in collaboration with experts.
• Collaborate with global support to implement best practices.
• Keep abreast of latest technical developments in the area of interest.

Job Description

• Perform process reviews, technical feasibility studies, process trend analysis and provide technical leadership for continuous plant operation
• Technical ownership for the assigned plant area including monitoring of performance, reliability, efficiency
• Advice operation team on operating parameters for the optimized operating mode for the plant considering the plant constraints, sustainability of operation and demand
• Taking leadership in troubleshooting systemic plant issues related to equipment and process; Work closely with the maintenance and operation team to improve plant availability
• Provide the required technical support as technical lead in the plant reliability and productivity improvement projects
• Prepare justifications for investments with cost benefit and savings calculations for improvement projects
• Play active role as technical lead in abnormal plant operation mode, plant shutdown, startup and commissioning activities as needed
• Provide support for the plant turnaround planning by identifying and justifying the scope. Also, carry out work packages supervision, quality assurance during Plant Turnaround as needed
• Provide technical guidelines for the critical operating procedures with guidance from technical experts
• Work closely with global support functions to evaluate and implement technical and operational best practices
• Continue to develop and grow technical expertise by keeping abreast of latest technical development in area of interest

Requirements

• Prior experience in a complex process plant, preferably in technical services and/or operation support role
• Experience in troubleshooting and optimizing the operation of process plants and/or good conceptual process design knowledge gained as part of EPC projects
• Knowledge of Industrial standards and applicable codes for process plants
• Process modelling skills desirable; Financial and commercial awareness desirable Strong team person with good problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of influencing people at all levels of the organization
• Highly adaptable with experience of working in a multinational and multicultural environment
• Degree in Chemical Engineering ideally in Chemical Engineering or related discipline with minimum 10 years of process engineering, plant operation support experience in Industrial Gas plants and/or in Oil & Gas / Petrochemical/ Refinery and related plants
