Job summary

Linde in Singapore seeks a Senior Process Engineer to lead process reviews, provide technical leadership for plant operation and reliability, and drive continuous improvement across the assigned plant area. You will advise operations on optimized operating parameters, troubleshoot systemic issues, and collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and global teams to implement best practices.

The ideal candidate has a chemical engineering degree and 10+ years of experience in Industrial Gas or Oil

Qualifications

• 10+ years of process engineering and plant operation support experience in industrial gas/oil & gas/refinery sectors.
• Experience in complex process plants; EPC exposure preferred.
• Knowledge of industrial standards and applicable codes for process plants.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a multinational environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform process reviews, feasibility studies, and provide technical leadership for continuous plant operation.
• Own the assigned plant area’s performance, reliability and efficiency monitoring.
• Advise operations on operating parameters for optimized mode considering constraints and sustainability.
• Lead troubleshooting of systemic plant issues with maintenance and operations teams to improve availability.
• Provide technical support as lead in reliability and productivity improvement projects.
• Prepare justifications for investments with cost-benefit and savings calculations.
• Take a leadership role in abnormal operations, shutdowns, startups and commissioning activities.
• Support turnaround planning through scope identification, supervision and QA during Turnaround.
• Develop guidelines for critical procedures with technical expert input.
• Collaborate with global support functions to implement best practices.
• Continue to develop technical expertise and stay updated with latest developments.

• Perform process reviews, technical feasibility studies, process trend analysis and provide technical leadership for continuous plant operation
• Technical ownership for the assigned plant area including monitoring of performance, reliability, efficiency
• Advice operation team on operating parameters for the optimized operating mode for the plant considering the plant constraints, sustainability of operation and demand
• Taking leadership in troubleshooting systemic plant issues related to equipment and process; Work closely with the maintenance and operation team to improve plant availability
• Provide the required technical support as technical lead in the plant reliability and productivity improvement projects
• Prepare justifications for investments with cost benefit and savings calculations for improvement projects
• Play active role as technical lead in abnormal plant operation mode, plant shutdown, startup and commissioning activities as needed
• Provide support for the plant turnaround planning by identifying and justifying the scope. Also, carry out work packages supervision, quality assurance during Plant Turnaround as needed
• Provide technical guidelines for the critical operating procedures with guidance from technical experts
• Work closely with global support functions to evaluate and implement technical and operational best practices
• Continue to develop and grow technical expertise by keeping abreast of latest technical development in area of interest

Requirements:

• Prior experience in a complex process plant, preferably in technical services and/or operation support role
• Experience in troubleshooting and optimizing the operation of process plants and/or good conceptual process design knowledge gained as part of EPC projects
• Knowledge of Industrial standards and applicable codes for process plants
• Process modelling skills desirable; Financial and commercial awareness desirable Strong team person with good problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of influencing people at all levels of the organization
• Highly adaptable with experience of working in a multinational and multicultural environment
• Degree in Chemical Engineering ideally in Chemical Engineering or related discipline with minimum 10 years of process engineering, plant operation support experience in Industrial Gas plants and/or in Oil & Gas / Petrochemical/ Refinery and related plants
