Job summary

Linde Gas Singapore Pte. Ltd. is seeking a highly experienced Process Engineer to provide technical leadership for continuous plant operation and reliability.

You will own plant-area performance, mentor operations teams and drive improvements across safety, efficiency and cost. The role requires a Chemical Engineering degree with 10+ years’ experience in Industrial Gas or related industries, and the ability to work in a multinational environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a complex process plant in technical services or operation support.
• Experience troubleshooting and optimizing process plant operations; EPC project knowledge helpful.
• Knowledge of industrial standards and codes for process plants.
• Process modelling desirable; financial and commercial awareness helpful.
• Strong teamwork, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Adaptable to multinational and multicultural environments.
• Degree in Chemical Engineering with 10+ years' process engineering/plant operation experience in Industrial Gas, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or related plants.

Responsibilities

• Lead process reviews, feasibility studies and provide technical leadership for continuous plant operation.
• Own assigned plant area: monitor performance, reliability and efficiency.
• Advise operations on parameters for optimized operation within plant constraints and sustainability.
• Lead troubleshooting of systemic plant issues with maintenance and operations teams to improve availability.
• Provide technical support as lead in reliability and productivity improvement projects.
• Prepare investment justifications with cost-benefit and savings calculations.
• Lead abnormal operation, shutdowns, startups and commissioning activities as needed.
• Support turnaround planning with scope identification and QA during turnaround.
• Develop technical guidelines for critical operating procedures with expert input.
• Collaborate with global support to implement technical and operational best practices.
• Continuously develop technical expertise with latest developments in the area.

Job Description:

• Perform process reviews, technical feasibility studies, process trend analysis and provide technical leadership for continuous plant operation
• Technical ownership for the assigned plant area including monitoring of performance, reliability, efficiency
• Advice operation team on operating parameters for the optimized operating mode for the plant considering the plant constraints, sustainability of operation and demand
• Taking leadership in troubleshooting systemic plant issues related to equipment and process; Work closely with the maintenance and operation team to improve plant availability
• Provide the required technical support as technical lead in the plant reliability and productivity improvement projects
• Prepare justifications for investments with cost benefit and savings calculations for improvement projects
• Play active role as technical lead in abnormal plant operation mode, plant shutdown, startup and commissioning activities as needed
• Provide support for the plant turnaround planning by identifying and justifying the scope. Also, carry out work packages supervision, quality assurance during Plant Turnaround as needed
• Provide technical guidelines for the critical operating procedures with guidance from technical experts
• Work closely with global support functions to evaluate and implement technical and operational best practices
• Continue to develop and grow technical expertise by keeping abreast of latest technical development in area of interest

Requirements:

• Prior experience in a complex process plant, preferably in technical services and/or operation support role
• Experience in troubleshooting and optimizing the operation of process plants and/or good conceptual process design knowledge gained as part of EPC projects
• Knowledge of Industrial standards and applicable codes for process plants
• Process modelling skills desirable; Financial and commercial awareness desirable Strong team person with good problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of influencing people at all levels of the organization
• Highly adaptable with experience of working in a multinational and multicultural environment
• Degree in Chemical Engineering ideally in Chemical Engineering or related discipline with minimum 10 years of process engineering, plant operation support experience in Industrial Gas plants and/or in Oil & Gas / Petrochemical/ Refinery and related plants
