pullman morrison pte. ltd. seeks a Senior Technical Market Development Manager for Asia to lead customer interactions with steel mills in APAC and guide niobium-containing product lines.

The role includes mentoring a multicultural technical team, project management with budget planning, and frequent international travel across Asia. The ideal candidate has a deep background in hot rolling of steels, 20+ years in steel mills, and fluent English communication.

Formación

• Background in hot rolling of flat and long steels.
• Engineering background in Materials/Metallurgy/Production/Mechanical.
• Master’s or PhD in Materials/Metallurgy highly appreciated.
• Minimum 20 years’ experience in steel mills and knowledge of steel production processes.
• Experience with Niobium in micro alloyed steels is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Provide technical support to existing and potential Asian customers (steel mills) to solve problems, improve quality, reduce costs, increase productivity and production stability.
• Manage and mentor a multicultural technical team of specialists.
• Provide multi-program leadership, coordination and budget planning.
• Research market scenarios, identify market needs and potentials.
• Establish links with companies, agents, consultants and suppliers to facilitate new business and technology developments.
• Coordinate technical projects and technology developments involving companies, universities, research centers and customers.
• Manage Niobium technology (monitoring, transfer, implementation, development, dissemination, promotion, documentation, generation).
• Travel intensively across Asia (Japan, South Korea, India, SEA) to interact with steel mills.

We're currently employing a Senior Technical Market Development Manager to be responsible for interactionwith customers (steel mills) in APAC region and the supply chain of niobium-containing products, including a variety of industries around in the region. This is a leadership role which also involves the management and mentoring of a multicultural technical team, providing technical assistance to customers, projects management with coordination and budget planning. Intensive routine of international trips is demanded.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

SENIOR TECHNICAL MARKET DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - Asia

Responsibilities

• Providing technical support to the Asian customers (steel mills) and potential new customers with the objective of solving problems, improving quality, reducing costs, improving productivity and production stability, or developing the production of a specific product.
• Managing and mentoring of a multicultural technical team of Specialists
• Providing multi-program leadership, coordination, and budget planning
• Research scenario, identifying market necessities and potentials.
• Establishing links with various companies, agents, consultants, and suppliers within the supply chain to facilitate potential new business and technology developments.
• Building knowledge of customers and informing them on market demand, market trends and the demands for technology.
• Coordinate technical projects and technology developments involving companies, universities, research centers / institutions and customers.
• Niobium technology management (monitoring, transfer, implementation, development, dissemination, promotion, documentation, and generation).
• Intensive routine of business trips, throughout Asia (mainly Japan, SouthKorea, India and SEA countries), to interact with the steel mills.

Requirements

• This is a technology focused role which would require a background education and solid experience in the specific area of hot rolling of flat and long steels. It also requires communication and personal skills for an international role with direct interaction with customers and partners.
• The candidate is required to be a Materials/Metallurgy/Industrial/Mechanical engineer.
• Postgraduation (PhD or Masters) inMaterials or Metallurgy is highly appreciated.
• Minimum of 20 years’ experience working in steel mills with good knowledge of steel products and production processes (steel making, continuous casting, hot rolling, finishing/conditioning, welding, and heat treatments).
• Experience and knowledge on steel characterization, including microstructure analysis, mechanical testing, and interpretation of results. Solid experience interacting with shop floor steel production (rolling mill).
• Specific understanding of the role of Niobium in micro alloyed steels and experience with Niobium, Titanium, and Vanadium micro alloyed steels are very positive differentials.
• The candidate is expected to be fluent inEnglish language and exhibit a very well-developed set of communication skills.
• Ability to develop working relationships with people from different backgrounds and cultures (customers, sales, production, industry leaders).
• People leadership skills and team buildingare an extremely important aspect internally and externally in this role.
• It is of the utmost importance that the candidate can objectively and proactively manage and lead the implementation of action plans both internally and with customers.

Qualifications

• Engineering with any of those backgrounds: Materials, Metallurgy, Production, Mechanical.
• Master’s degree or PhD in Materials orMetallurgy is highly appreciated.
