About the role:
Reporting into the Senior ManagerIT System Operations, theIT System Operations team maintains and monitors the Digital Realty infrastructure to ensure the Digital Realty systems are available, performing, compliant and secure. The IT Systems Operations team also defines, implements and maintains the processes and tooling to do this in the most cost-efficient way.
What you’ll do:
Infrastructure Management:
- Ensure operational stability of all IT systems infrastructure.
- Ensure optimal performance and resource management across all systems.
- Maintain and deploy system and cloud architecture according to requirements for business enablement.
- Maintain and operate systems backup procedures and ensure recoverability and data integrity.
- Maintain and operate infrastructure life cycle management, including operating system versioning and full hardware replacements.
Operational Compliance:
- Ensure installations, configurations, policies and procedures meet the IT-security targets, applicable compliance frameworks and specific customer requirements.
- Proactively conduct self-assessments and vulnerability scans to gain additional confidence that these targets are met.
- Resolve vulnerability findings within company defined SLA.
Identifies, installs, maintains and deploys system management tooling:
- Identifies tooling contributing to the cost-efficient installation, configuration, maintenance and monitoring of the DLR systems and cloud services.
- Implements, configures, and deploys these tools globally.
- Acts as the to-go person for system management.
- Contributes to business projects, infrastructure projects, audits, etc. to provide system management expertise.
- Ensure incidents are solved within SLA’s determined lead time.
- Provides out-of-date office hours system management support where needed.
What you’ll need:
- IT Related Bachelor education (or 5+ years of work experience)
- Microsoft Certification
- VMWareVirtual Certified Professional (VCP) (preferred)
- 3 or more years of work experience in international environment
- Experience in working in a multi-vendor environment
- Fluent in English, both written and orally.
- Will be participating in after hours on call duty on a rotation schedule basis.
- Occasional travel to DLR locations
- Detailed knowledge of Microsoft systems and system management (Windows, Azure, etc)
- Detailed knowledge of storage technologies (SAN)
- Detailed knowledge of VMWare, Azure and AWS virtual workloads
- Detailed knowledge of integration technologies
- Detailed knowledge of cloud services (both IaaS, PaaS & SaaS)
- Strong aptitude and critical thinking
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Exceptional communicator
- Independent in own work; take responsibility in projects, but also not afraid to ask for help when needed
- Strong discipline; organized and structured way of working
- Risk aware; knows how to assess risks and how to communicate these risks to stakeholders
