Job summary

GovTech in Singapore seeks an experienced software engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable, secure software across the full lifecycle. You will collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and fellow engineers to define requirements, architect solutions, and deliver high-quality products.

You will write clean code in languages such as Python, Java, Go, JavaScript, and C#, perform code reviews, mentor juniors, and help maintain system reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in software development with a strong track record of delivering successful projects.
• Experience in Mobile Application and Website Development, Content Management System (CMS).
• Proficiency in at least two modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, JavaScript, C#) and experience with relevant frameworks.
• Solid understanding of software design principles, data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Web development with Node.js background, preferably with Next.js and AI-assisted development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex, scalable, and secure software applications across the full software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and other engineers to define requirements, architect solutions, and deliver high-quality products.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in various programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, JavaScript, C#).
• Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior engineers to foster a culture of technical excellence.
• Troubleshoot and debug production issues, ensuring high availability and performance of critical systems.
• Contribute to technical documentation, architectural diagrams, and best practices.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential application within GovTech's ecosystem.
• Participate in agile development processes, including stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
