Job summary

GovTech Singapore is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to steer technical direction and drive the design, implementation, and delivery of key products. You will lead software engineering squads building applications for citizens and businesses, with AI-enabled capabilities, ensuring high-quality and scalable solutions.

The role requires 5+ years in large-scale systems, strong Agile practices, and experience in AWS, Next.js/React, and Java/TypeScript.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in large-scale software systems.
• Proven leadership and coaching experience.
• Strong Agile/Scrum practice across teams and vendors.
• Experience in production incident management and L3 support.
• Strong communication with Product Managers and UX designers.
• Experience with AWS and modern full-stack web tech (Next.js/React, Java/TypeScript).
• Familiarity with Python for data analysis and Terraform for IaC.
• CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows.
• Knowledge of software architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience with low-code platforms (OutSystems) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define team engineering vision, strategy, and roadmap.
• Partner with stakeholders to prioritize and manage product roadmaps.
• Create long-term technical plans and update roadmaps.
• Mentor engineers and support professional growth.
• Develop quality, reliability, and security strategies.
• Identify and drive engineering initiatives for greater impact.
• Establish practices to maximize engineering effectiveness.
• Assist with recruitment for senior roles.
