Job summary

revup consulting in Singapore is seeking an experienced backend engineering leader to design and build payment-processing systems for high-volume, multi-currency settlements. You will own services spanning markets and partner integration with banks to enable new payment rails.

You will mentor engineers, review code, and influence architecture while ensuring security and regulatory compliance across diverse markets. Candidates should have 8+ years in backend roles and strong Java/Go/Python skills.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Experience in payments/fintech or regulated environments preferred.
• Strong knowledge of backend languages and distributed systems fundamentals.
• Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS or equivalent) and production-grade design.
• Comfort with security/compliance requirements (PCI-DSS).

• For Engineering Manager applicants: lead and grow a team of backend engineers, own delivery and technical direction for the group

What you'll need

• 8+ years of backend software engineering experience
• Experience building or maintaining systems handling financial transactions, ledgers or settlement, in payments, banking, fintech or another regulated environment
• Strong command of a backend language (Java, Go, Python or similar) and distributed systems fundamentals
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent) and production-grade system design
• Comfort working under security and compliance requirements (PCI-DSS or similar)
• For Engineering Manager applicants: proven experience managing a backend or payments engineering team, including hiring, performance and delivery ownership
