Job summary

Motional is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Planning, Motion, and Controls Team in Singapore. You will develop and maintain simulation and analysis tools to accelerate autonomy stack development and enable automated root-cause analysis.

Key activities include building high-performance C++ tools, Python tooling, and GUI/visualizers to inspect logged data. Collaboration with engineers will drive robust solutions for autonomous driving challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development and testing.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as C++, with a focus on high-performance and resilient systems.
• Comfortable navigating large, complex codebases where modularity and documentation are key.
• Passionate about driverless future and the high stakes of software in the physical world.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop efficient and user-friendly tools to support autonomy technology development.
• Develop local or cloud-based execution runners to modify configs and rerun the autonomy stack against recorded logs.
• Build GUI debuggers and 2D/3D visualizers for logged data to inspect decision logic frame-by-frame.
• Collaborate with planning and controls engineers to understand requirements of simulation and analysis tools.
• Continuously improve and optimize simulation and analysis tools for performance and functionality.
• Contribute to Motional’s autonomous driving technology by addressing engineers' pain points with robust solutions.
